Steven Nelms

Head Coach

Coach Steven Nelms swam for Plano Senior High where he held three school records and continues to hold the record for the 50 free. He went on to UNLV where he was an NCAA All-American swimmer and set UNLV records in 200 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Free Relay. He also qualified for the US Olympic Trials in the 100 Meter Butterfly. Welcome back to Plano Senior High, Coach!

Xandra Damon

Assistant Swim Coach

Coach Xandra Damon is a 2013 Vassar College graduate with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. In addition to a 17-year swimming career, she was a recognized Scholar Athlete in high school and college. She has over seven years of coaching experience involving a wide variety of ages and ability levels emphasizing stroke technique and conditioning. In the summers, she is also the head coach for the Richardson YMCA Rapids - which was her first swim team! Although she grew up in Richardson, she is absolutely ready to cheer for Plano wholeheartedly. Coach Damon can be contacted at

Bob Solow

Diving Coach

Diving Coach Bob Solow brings 38 years of coaching experience to the Plano Wildcats. He has coached college, high school, USA Age Group, and Masters. He has won honors as an ASCA State Coach of the Year and is a recipient of the prestigious Phillips 66 Service Award. Bob graduated from Colorado State University in 1971 with a B.S. in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation. He later completed a Masters Degree in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy. Coach Solow can be contacted at
