Lauren finished 7th at state in 100 Breast and set a new school record. Allison finished 9th at state in 200 IM and also set a new school record. Awesome job, ladies!
Congratulations JV District Swimmers
Congratulations to the JV discrict swimmers. Both the girls and boys teams finished 2nd overall. Great job!
Congratulations Regional Qualifiers
The varsity team did really well at districts. The girls team finished 2nd overall and the boys team finished 4th. Congratulations, Allison Chang, for winning Female Athlete of the Meet! See the meet writeup in the Allen American.

Practice Changes This Week
Due to standardized testing at Vines and Clark this week, the sports shuttles will not be running.
- Tuesday 3/28: NO PRACTICE 1st or 7th period
- Thursday 3/30: NO PRACTICE 1st or 7th period
Practice Changes for the Week of 2/27
Since many classes are having tests prior to Spring Break, there will be no practice on Wednesday through Friday of this week.
- 1st Period Freshman and Sophomores: Check in at 9:15am in the cafeteria each day.
- 1st Period Juniors and Seniors: Check in with either coach during the day.
- 7th Period Swimmers: No check-in necessary. You can leave after 6th period class.
Kendra Scott Fundraiser
The Kendra Scott Fundraiser is Thursday February 2nd from 5:00-8:00pm at the Watters Creek Kendra Scott in Allen. Please come out and buy something for that special someone and tell all your friends to do the same. 20% of the proceeds go to the swim team.
Regionals Meet Information
The Regionals meet will be held Friday, February 3rd and Saturday, February 4th at LISD Westside Aquatics Center (1750 Duncan Lane, Lewisville) at 9:00am. Swimmers should be at PAC at 6:00am. The Suburbans will leave PAC at 6:15am. Warm up is at 7:30am.
The booster club will provide the swimmers with breakfast.
There will be no practice and no check-in for swimmers not attending the meet.
JV District Dinner
The JV Dinner will be held Thursday January 26th at Paesano's Ristorante (508 E 14th Street) from 6:00-7:30pm. Invitation not yet available.
JV District Meet Information
The JV District meet will be held Friday, January 27th at Tom Muehlenbeck Natatorium (5801 W Parker Rd, Plano) at 11:15am. Swimmers should be at PAC at 9:50am. The bus will leave PAC at 10:00am. Warm up is at 10:30am. Swimmers will be bused back to PAC after the meet.
Swimmers must wear their long-sleeved district shirt to this meet.
The booster club will provide the swimmers with a meal at the meet. Swimmers may wish to bring additional snacks and water.
JV District swimmers will be excused for the entire day.
Varsity District Meet Information
The Varsity District meet will be held Friday, January 20th at Allen's Don Rodenbauth Natatorium (110 Rivercrest Blvd, Allen) at 3:00pm. Swimmers should be at PAC at 11:15am. The bus will leave PAC at 11:30am. Swimmers must wear their long-sleeved district shirt to this meet.
The booster club will provide the swimmers with a meal at the meet. Since this meet spans lunch and dinner, swimmers may wish to bring additional snacks and water. Deck chairs are also recommended.
There will be no practice on Friday morning. Varsity swimmers will be excused for the entire day, but may attend 1st and 2nd period classes.
Varsity District Dinner
The Varsity Dinner will be held Thursday January 19th at Paesano's Ristorante (508 E 14th Street) from 6:00-7:30pm. Invitation here
Winter Break Practice Schedule
If you will be in town over the break and not attending club practices, please attend high school practices to be prepared for the upcoming varsity and JV district meets. If your swimmer is unable to attend please contact Coach Nelms at steven.nelms@pisd.edu to make plans for your swimmer's winter training.

- Monday 12/19 - Friday 12/23: 7:30-8:30am at PAC (all swimming)
- Monday 12/26: NO PRACTICE
- Tuesday 12/27 - Friday 12/30: 7:30-8:30am at PAC (all swimming)
Academic All-State Information for Swimmers
The Texas High School Coaches Association recognizes Academic All-State Athletes in 13 different sports including swimming.
To be nominated for Academic All-State, a student must be:
- An athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team
- Of good moral character
- A senior
- Have an overall grade point average of 92 or above (including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12). Weighted GPAs accepted.
Nominations must be made by the head coach of the sport. If your student qualifies, please notify Coach Nelms by December 1st so he has time to fill out the applications.
McKinney Boyd/Parent Dinner Meet Information
The McKinney Boyd meet will be held Wednesday, December 7th at 6:00pm at PAC. Swimmers need to be ready to warm up at 4:45pm.
Thanks to everyone who signed up at SignUpGenius. If you haven't signed up, please check to see if there is anything that we still need for the dinner. Parents may eat before, during, or after the meet. Swimmers will probably eat after the meet.
Chipotle Fundraiser
The booster club raised just over $560 at our Chipotle fundraiser on Tuesday. Thanks to all the Wildcats and our supporters for turning out!
TISCA Meet Information
The TISCA Meet Preliminaries will be held Friday, November 18th, at LISD Westside (1750 Duncan Lane, Lewisville) at 8:00am. Swimmers must be at PAC for the 6:30am bus departure. Swimmers will be provided with breakfast at the meet. The meet is expected to be done around noon.
Swimmers who qualify for TISCA Finals on Saturday will need to work out transportation and timing with the coaches.
This meet is only for those who qualified with TISCA times.
TISCA swimmers will be excused from all classes on Friday.
There will be no practice and no check-ins for other swimmers on Friday since the coaches will be at the meet. If swimmers must report to PSHS because of transportation issues, they should hang out in the cafeteria throughout their assigned swimming period.
Plano East/JJ Pearce Meet Information
The Plano East/JJ Pearce meet will be held Wednesday, November 9th, at Rowlinson (1712 P Ave, Plano) at 6:00pm. The bus will leave PAC at 4:45pm. This meet is for varsity only. Please come out and cheer for your swimmers.
Dallas Cup Meet Information
The Dallas Cup will be held Friday, November 11th, at McKinney High School (1400 Wilson Creek Pkwy, McKinney) at 12:30pm. Swimmers must be at PAC at 10:45am for an 11:00am bus departure. If swimmers need to be dropped off before 10:30am, they should wait in the PSHS cafeteria until then before heading over to PAC. They will be provided with lunch and water bottles at the meet, but they may want to bring additional snacks.
This meet is only for those who didn't qualify for TISCA.
Dallas Cup swimmers will be excused from all classes on Friday.
Only TISCA swimmers need to report to practice on Friday morning.
Meal Order Forms for Dallas Cup or TISCA
The booster club will be providing Potbelly sandwiches to your swimmers for the Dallas Cup and TISCA meets. This meal was paid for as part of your booster club fees. Please fill out the meal order form and return to Coach Damon by Friday, November 4th. Even if your child doesn't want the meal, please fill out the form and in the Notes section write that you are declining the meal. The coaches will determine which of the two meets that your child will be swimming and the booster club will sort the forms to provide the meal at the correct meet.
Plano West Meet at Muehlenbeck
The Plano West meet on Wednesday, October 26th will be held at Tom Muehlenbeck Recreational Center (5801 W Parker Rd in Plano) instead of PAC. The bus will depart from PAC at 4:45pm. The meet will start at 6:00pm. Clark and Vines morning swimmers with concerns about making it to PAC in time for the bus may speak to Coach Nelms personally to discuss early release from 7th period.
Since Plano West will now be hosting the meet, if you volunteered to work this meet, you have the night off to watch your kids swim.
The parent/swimmer chili dinner will be postponed to a later date.
Spiritware
Support your swimmer or diver at their next meet by wearing a Plano Wildcats Swim & Dive T-shirt. A limited number of shirts are still available for purchase at $18. Please Contact Jennifer Hill (spiritwear@planowildcatswimming.org) to reserve a shirt.
Wednesday Morning Practice Cancelled 10/19
Due to CoGAT and PSAT testing Wednesday morning for most students, Wednesday morning practice is cancelled. Seniors, please check-in with Coach Nelms or Coach Damon during the day on Wednesday.
Allen JV/Varsity Meet Information
The Allen JV/Varsity meet will be held at PAC at 6:00pm on Wednesday, October 19th. Swimmers need to be at PAC ready for warm-ups at 4:45pm.
Jesuit/Ursuline Meet Information
The Jesuit/Ursuline varsity meet will be held Wednesday, October 12th at PAC at 6:00pm. Swimmers must be ready to dive in the water promptly at 4:45pm for warm-ups. Full uniform is required for all meets. Swimmers from Clark and Vines must arrange their own transportation to PAC in time for warm-ups.
JV Pentathlon Meet Information
The JV Pentathlon meet will be held Saturday, October 8th at 9:00am at the McKinney High School pool (1400 W. Wilson Creek Pkwy). All JV swimmers need to be at PAC at 6:20am wearing their team shirt and carrying their team swim bag. Without your team gear, you will not be allowed on the bus. The bus will leave at 6:30am.
The meet format will be 50 fly, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 free and 1 relay. Most swimmers will swim all individual events.
Come cheer your swimmers! McKinney charges admission: $5 per adult, $2 per student, and 2$ per heat sheet.
Team Pictures October 5th
The team pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th. The order form is available here. Please print the form and bring it Wednesday with cash or a check made out to Kim Peichel Photography.
Swimmers must wear their team T-shirt and jeans for the photos.
Varsity swimmers and divers need to be at PAC at 7:00am. The team picture will be taken first followed by individual pictures.
JV swimmers need to be at PAC at 3:30pm. The individual pictures will be taken first followed by the team picture so Vines and Clark swimmers will have time to get there. If you swim in the morning, please attend the afternoon session so that you are included in the JV team photo.
Ranger Relays Meet Information
The Ranger Relays varsity meet will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, October 1st at LISD Westside (1750 Duncan Lane, Lewisville). Swimmers should be at PAC at 12pm wearing their team shirt. The bus will leave at 12:15pm. The team uniform shirts should be distributed to the swimmers on Friday.
For swimmers taking the SAT on Saturday, please fill out Exhibit E (pages 11 and 12) of the Alternate Travel Form and return to the coaches by Friday. Warm-ups will be from 1:00-1:30pm.
2016-2017 Swim Team Suit Ordering
Each swimmer/diver will be required to purchase their suit at Xtreme Swim in Plano, at 2220 Coit Road. They are Speedo Endurance suits. Your swimmer/diver is required to go in and try on the suit (so we have their correct size) and order/pay for the suit in the store. They will be left at the store for the team logo to be added and we will deliver it to your child once they are ready.
McKinney Boyd Meet TODAY HAS MOVED TO MCKINNEY
PAC has had a pool heating malfunction and the pool is 95F which is not safe to race in, so the meet is moving to McKinney. Buses will leave PAC at 4:45pm and warm-ups will begin at 5:30pm. The meet will start at 6:30pm. Swimmers are required to wear their team suit and cap.
Since this is a last minute change, we still need our parent volunteers to help McKinney Boyd host a successful meet. The McKinney natatorium is located at 1400 W Wilson Creek Pkwy.
There will be a mandatory check-in with the coaches at 8:30am in the cafeteria on Thursday for morning swimmers.
Preseason Swim and Dive Dinner -- Athletes Only
The pre-season athletes dinner will be held Monday, September 12th from 6-8pm at On the Border in Plano (15th Street and Central Expy). This dinner will be paid for by the booster club and is for athletes only. An RSVP sheet will be coming home with the students.
Intersquad Meet Info
The intersquad Maroon & White meet will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at 5:30pm at PAC. All swimmers need to be in the water at 4:45pm for warm-up. Team caps will be distributed at practice and are manditory for this meet. Team suits may be worn for this meet if the swimmer has already received his/her suit. Team backpacks have been distributed and should be used for this and all meets. Meet entries will be announced at practice. Afternoon swimmers will use their practice time to set up for the meet. There will be no morning practice on Thursday, September 8th.
Mandatory Parent Meeting - 9/1/2016
There will be a mandatory parent informational meeting for the 2016-2017 season on September 1st at 6:00 PM in the lecture hall in building B. This meeting will cover team and parent expectations. This is also your chance to order spirit gear and pay for mandatory items like booster club fees (covers things like team lunch for all day meets and your student's banquet ticket). Please bring your checkbook. We can't take credit cards. The registration form is available here if you'd like to fill it out in advance.
Plano East Meet Date Has Changed
The Plano East meet will now be held on Wednesday, November 9th at Rowlinson. This meet will now be a tri-meet with Plano East and JJ Pearce and will include the varsity team only.

2016-2017 Tryouts
Tryout will be held the first 2 weeks of school. Information about tryouts has been posted here.
Swimmers or divers who are new to the team or incoming Juniors will need a sports physical before the 2016-2017 season. Please get your physical before the first day of school so you are eligible to participate. The physical evaluation form is available here.
New Method of Submitting Athletic Forms This Year
The district will be using a completely new method of completing the athletic forms this year. The Preparticipation Physical Evaluation and Medical History and Swim Team Policies forms will still be filled out on paper and submitted to the coaches on August 22nd. The remaining forms will be submitted online using Rank One Sport. You will use your child's student identification number to register at Rank One.
First Day Practice Schedule - August 22nd
The Coaches will go over paperwork on the first day. Students will not get in the water. Please complete your forms online and bring paper copies of the Physical Evaluation (juniors and new swimmers or divers), Medical History, and Swim Team Policies forms.
Divers: Please be at Oak Point at 6:30am dressed to stretch out.
First Period Swimmers: Please be at PAC at 7:30am.
Seventh Period Swimmers: Please be at PAC at 3:30pm or as soon as Vines/Clark buses arrive.
Optional Practice 8/15/16--8/19/16 @6:45am-7:45am
This practice is geared toward non club swimmer but anyone on the team can attend
